One of the Holy Grails for Toronto Transit Geeks is/was/will always be the abandoned/mothballed/destroyed-by-Hollywood Lower Bay Station, beneath the regular Bay Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. Due to tunnel repairs near the Upper/regular Bay Station, trains had to divert through the Lower station in order to meet opposing trains around the corner at Museum Station. Here are some of the scenes that were seen from the train as it whizzed through. A rare opportunity, indeed.
BTW, Hi Busbabe. Nice meeting you this morning :-)
Photos taken Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Lower Bay Subway Station, Toronto.
